Ziauddin Ahmed hails from Karachi, where he spent
his early life and got his education. He took his B.Sc.( hons) and Masters from
the University of Karachi.
Started his career by teaching at the Karachi Grammar School for a couple of
years before joining Lever Brothers Pakistan Ltd. as a management trainee. Was
groomed in all departments of management
with special emphasis on Marketing , Sales and Market research. Was selected by
the overseas division of Unilever Export Ltd. and after training in England was
posted in the Middle East as Overseas Manager. Toured and liaised with agents
and distributors in Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman. Main tasks were
to inform about company products and policies, and develop marketing techniques
for the various situations in the middle eastern markets. To arrange Seminars
and lectures;
and to train and educate agent’s personnel and sales force.
Migrated to Canada in 1990.
Currently self-employed. Providing consultancy on marketing projects; product
and project planning and advisory services.
Undertaking various translation and reviews of projects on a job to job basis.
Has a flare for communication and learning and undertakes writing and
translation as hobby and for self motivation. Has translated selections from
Ghalib, the famous poet philosopher of the East. Has compiled ‘ Celestial
Marriage’ a new age commentary on religious thought. Translating various
sufistic and philosophic poems of Urdu literature. Has written a number of
philosophic articles and has reviewed and analyzed work of other writers and
poets. His published book, ‘ Thought Provoking Essays’ in 2006, through
iUniverse inc. USA, is
an insight into evolution in man and his nature. It covers the development of
human triad of thought, word and deed in many facets of life, religion in
