There is not much
difference between me and my friends
Karamallyand Mike Jackson . We all are atheist
when it comes to believing in gods other that
Allah. We all don't believe in Vishnu or
Saturn and in that respect we are all
atheists. The only difference between me and
my friends is that I believe in one less god
(Allah). We must remember that there was a
time when millions of people believed in the
Roman god Saturn but we have thrown that god
and many others in the trash- can of history.
Now if monotheism is an
improvement from polytheism, what's the next
logical advancement?, Atheism. I am very
eagerly waiting for the evidence which
Mr.Karamally is talking about. All that the
apologists ever point to is " gap in human
understanding" and somehow by default that
'gap" is filled by God. That has been the
consistent theme throughout history. Should we
think that, (gap in knowledge= God). At least
that's what it looks like to me. Before Newton
explained the movement of our solar system,
the movement of the planets were thought to be
decreed by God and then we came to know that
all it takes is gravity to keep our solar
system going. That particular gap in our
understanding where " God of gap use to live,
was filled by new understanding, so that god
was moved one more step back. Now the only
place where God hides in beyond the Plank's
wall.
I insist that positing
God solves nothing, its like trying to solve
one mystery (universe) with another mystery
(God). Moreover this God does not explain
anything, no improvement is made in our
understanding, for example it does not
explain, why anything exists than nothing, why
Carbon based life instead of nitrogen based
life, why DNA not some other self-replicating
compound. God hypothesis does not make any
prediction that can be tested against
observation, therefore it is immune to
falsifiability. Its an empty theory with no
explanatory value. Mr.Karamly you have been talking
about evidence for a while now, PLEASE
don't say that anymore just give us your
EVIDENCE
