Quranic Science

Family of the Heart - DIALOGUE & DISCUSSIONS

 Hi,

I am not a physicist but have interest in it, specially when someone talks about Quran and Science.

My understanding about the religion and modern science specially as it developed in the Christian West on the building blocks that Muslim Scientists left, took a different approach to religion and there is reason for that and here is the reason.

Since the previous scriptures did not remain intact, the perfect word of God was only made imperfect by human interpolation and when that human interpolation presented as word of God is examined by impartial critical scientists they found a lot of inconsistencies between the scripture and the modern proven science (I am not talking about still to be validated theories of Science). So the scientist who developed in the West only knew religion in Non-Islamic terms and developed a kind of aversion for religion. They however remain completely unaware of Quran where not only nothing can be proven against the modern science but there are even pointers towards different scientific discoveries to be made, please refer to Surah 65 Talaq Ayah 12, the last ayah.

Allah it is who hath created seven heavens, and of the earth the like thereof. The commandment cometh down among them slowly, that ye may know that Allah is Able to do all things, and that Allah surroundeth all things in knowledge. (12)

A clear indication that we will (human beings) will someday find another place like the Earth, obviously it will require space exploration. Can someone even imagine the concept of space exploration 1400 year before our time ! Point to note here is that, the West started advancing in Science and making Scientific discoveries when they separated religion from their public and academic life. On the other hand when Muslims separated their lives from their religion they started moving away from all kinds of scientific discoveries.

Frank J Tipler, who is a Physicist of recent time. His book "Physics of Immortality" is something of interest to read for those who are interested in this subject. This book is easily available on internet.

Thanks.
Dr. Warsi
