A shoddy piece of work
Dear Friends,
In post # 111, Feroz Karmally wrote:
There is a difference between
conditioning and confusion. Conditioning of
the mind and body is an exercise that allows
it to be more fit and perform better.
Confusion is to mix up singularity, duality
and plurality, to quote some examples like
night and day, yes and no and somehow
conclude that we manufactured ourselves,
that an explosion in a giant printing
factory in the skies resulted in the
formation of the universe with its precise
laws and the designed and functional human
being.
Confusion is the creation of
our own minds, and we have to work very hard
to condition ourselves to be confused. The
natural, God-given desire is to work towards
peace, and understanding and goal seeking, not
confusion based on our own opinions projected
as the truth (when it is not), e.g., when
[Rashid Mughal] says, "Once this insight is
gained, one is awakened. This is
enlightenment. This awakening is called
enlightenment." I would rephrase this as,
"Once this confusion is gained, one drifts
into a coma, the awakening from which is
called chaos."
Mr Karmally is kidding himself with his usually
twisted logic. His stubborn mind is so
conditioned by the God gene that he seriously
believes, to use in his very own words, that
"we
have to work very hard to condition ourselves to
be confused. The natural, God-given desire is to
work towards peace, and understanding and goal
seeking, not confusion based on our own
opinions. . . ."
The peace that he is alluding to has eluded the
human race since the beginning of time.
In
response to my statement -- "Once this insight
is gained, one is awakened. This is
enlightenment. This awakening is called
enlightenment." -- he writes to say that he
would rephrase it thus:
"Once this confusion is gained, one drifts into
a coma, the awakening from which is called
chaos."
He's got to be kidding, as he is wont to say.
His reference to
"an
explosion in a giant printing factory in the
skies resulted in the formation of the universe"
comes from his vindictive intention of hitting
at me personally because of my association with
writing and publishing.
If
this is not unnecessary provocation and utter
stupidity, I don't know what is.
What a shoddy piece of work he is -- given his
God-given desire to work towards peace and
understanding!
The truth is that the man does not know the
meaning of the word conditioning as I
have been using it, yet there are any number of
people who know better.
Two recent and very relevant examples may,
perhaps, shed some light on the kind of
philosophy that even I am not aware of, yet I
appear to be saying something so profound as to
invoke the names of Mu'tazilah and Sufism of the
highest order.
1.
Rashid
Saheb,
"To say that
[God] is part and parcel of His creation is
like saying we are God"
The above statement is in conformity with the
great Sufi traditions. Persian mystic Mansur
al-Hallaj did not claim to be God like Pharaoh
did when he said Anul Haq.
He was executed
for heresy by Abbasi Caliph Al-Muqtadir
because people worship form and not content.

In brief,
may I say that Rashid Mughal is trying to

I
sincerely hope this will help to provide some
food for thought to nourish the brain and
conditioned self of our mutual friend.
