Dr. Robin Collins is
Professor of Philosophy. at Messiah College and
a well known Intelligent Design advocate
(although he differs from most ID folk by naming
the designer as God). While he studied physics
as an undergraduate, he was a software engineer
before turning to philosophy and religion. His
Ph.D. in philosophy is legitimate but he is not
a physicist nor an unbiased reporter. He is on a
mission to prove that God exists.
Regarding God entering the universe without
destroying it: I can put my hand into a cookie
jar and extract a cookie despite my being larger
than the jar. The jar does not get destroyed in
the process. The removal of the cookie would
absolute proof to any smart cookie that a being
of great power existed. Surely Allah could come
up with an absolute proof of his existence if it
was his desire.
Since Allah apparently does NOT desire to give
us an easily understood absolute proof, why
should we go looking for one? People can study
the universe and all its parts without needing
to be looking for proof of God. Indeed, even
looking for proof implies a weakness of faith.
If you believe, no proof should be necessary.
