Actually I was quoting
Dr. Richard Collins, a physicist at University
of Cambridge that gravity was extremely
sensitive. So if you think it is silly, you
should take it up with him. His video is on
You tube. Perhaps you know more, but it is
not up to me to judge that.
Interesting point you
raised about proof. God sent many miracles,
but those who denied those and their type will
also deny the proof. You are right, a proof of
God would destroy faith but then look at what
faith has done. Faith is defined as the
unquestioning belief in something for which
there is no proof. All the men of faith, of
different religions, and holding beliefs
diametrically opposed to each other, some with
a multitude of gods, all claim to be right
based on faith. Many stupid things have been
done, and are continuing to be done in the
name of faith.
While we can hold our own
opinions about faith, Quran always wants us to
use reason. And the Quran says,
74:30 Over it is
nineteen.
74:31 We appointed angels
to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their
number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers,
(2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that
this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen
the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all
traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians,
Jews, as well as the believers, and (5) to
expose those who harbor doubt in their hearts,
and the disbelievers; they will say, "What did
GOD mean by this allegory?" GOD thus sends
astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever
He wills. None knows the soldiers of your Lord
except He. This is a reminder for the people.
From the above it is quite obvious that God
says that proof will increase our faith and
convince sincere people.
As to why God does not
show Himself to us, one is the reason we are
here because of the Great Feud. We have to
realize using our free will and rational
thinking that God alone possesses all power
and is our only Lord and Master.
A second reason is that,
God being greater than our unimaginable
universe, it is now possible to see him from
here, given our restrictions of a three
dimensional world with limited sight and range
of view. Since God cannot come into our
universe without it breaking up, how can we
see God?
