I very much doubt if this was the only
reason for expulsion. I think one needs to investigate as newspaper’s
report may not be right. It is possible that these students might have
given a false affidavit of being Muslim (as Ahmedis are non-Muslim
according to Pakistani law as well Shariah laws). Every one, who claims to
be Muslim, has to submit a certificate/affidavit to the effect that he
believes in last and final prophet hood of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) at the
time of obtaining passport, NID card, job and admission to educational
institutions. It doesn’t mean that non-Muslims are deprived or refused
these facilities. Only thing is right declaration. I don’t know why people
hide their identity? Imagine what will happen if somebody declares that he
is American or Canadian but living illegally in America or Canada. Same is
true for religion. One should declare his religion what ever it may be.
Every one is free to adopt any religion but has no right to declare wrong
religion.
