Hello Friends,

Persecution of Ahmadiya community in Pakistan and elsewhere is a cause of concern for all those who believe in Human Rights.

Regardless of the belief that people of Ahmadiya community profess, their life, liberty, and rights are sacrosanct. Denial of education opportunity to any one on the grounds of race, faith, or religion, is the extreme form of violence and injustice.

All consciemtious people and an all Muslims shoud denounce it, and demand that the democratic government of Pakistan regardless of the attitudes of a provincial government should eliminate this injustice.

Thanks. Munir

Munir Saheb,

THis is indeed one occasion when I feel ashamed of being called a Pakistani.

There is absolutely no justification for this kind of bigotry and tyranny. In a way I am pleased that Nawaz Shareef and his party did not come into the elected government.  Otherwise we would see much more of this.

It is one thing to see a dictatorial regime ating irrationally but it is even more shameful when an elected administration takes to bigotry and this kind of tyranny.

The problem is that the entire Pakistani society has been poisoned in this way. The system had been injected with religious tyranny and pure bigotry. It had gone on for more than 20 years. It may take a 100 years of persistent education in tolerance, acceptance, civic responsibility and pluralism to iradicate that evil.

Do not forget that it was the socialist regime of the most popular prime minster of Pakistan Mr. Z.A. Bhutto, which passed the law in an elected assembly to declare the Qadyanis as a minority.

For the time, all we can do is protest and register our utmost disgust and utter contempt for this state of affairs.

Thank you. Sincerely, Syed-Mohsin Naquvi
