Dear Farzana Sahiba,
From your recent post
(#92), I am not sure what is more important for you, Mr. Joyce’s annoyance
or Mr. Ziberi’s position to call a spade a spade.
I have followed up on this dialogue at least to the extent of Messrs Zuberi and Joyce posts. What really has been the source
of annoyance in this dialogue is Mr. Joyce’s blind Patronizing posture in
support of American hegemony and a complete denial of the American
imperialism.
As for your claim for
Mr. Joyce’s well documented posts are concerned, I really don’t know what
do you mean by that? But I must say, that he has
been far from reality and realism in most areas of the global current
affairs that he has touched upon in his various posts.
Regarding the question
of God given right; Mr. Zuberi has already
explained it very nicely and appropriately, I do not see any value in your
objection or judgment of the same. America
is certainly behaving against those who cannot defend themselves as if America has
some kind of God given right to invade and destroy at will. This statement
is deficiently worth repeating over and over again.
Regarding the change
and development, there is no one on earth keener than myself and I know
there are millions upon millions of Muslims who want to change and develop
just as both of us wish. But they are all helpless as the evil empires keep
a hold over the developing countries by installing puppets and compradors
who simply serve the empires and have no capacity, interest or even
inclination for nation building. This is a vast and complex subject and
cannot be dealt with in a short letter.
Regarding your
concerns about Pakistan,
in a very brief summary, this is what I would like to say: During the last
8 years, the country has been turned into a war zone by the American
imperialists in their ambition to exert control of the region. In the
process, Pakistan
has lost all opportunities to develop its industry or civil institutions to
keep in step with the free world. By force the American empire has imposed
its own Afghan war on Pakistan.
America’s
God given rights are again at work and you cannot deny that.
While blaming Mr. Zuberi going off on a tangent, you are doing exactly
the same by bringing in the business of Sharia
while several unresolved questions were already on the table, I had to
therefore, list them out in my last post to organize the dialogue for
clarity.
Regarding your
concerns about Sharia, I oppose it as much as you
do. But the trouble that has been brewing in Swat region during the last couple
of years can be directly attributed to the chaos and lawlessness that was
deliberately started by foreign elements and funds. The covert operations
using the socio-economic or religious pretences are common ploys used to
assist long term geo-political operations. The local authorities have done
well by allowing Sharia in limited areas in order
to keep the foreign saboteurs and the terrorists at bay. It is an important
strategic move to counter the covert operation of the foreign powers and
buy some peace.
Most of the FoTH readers live in the west,
most have spent perhaps better part of their lives in the west. I see no
point in your reminding them to acknowledge the equality between genders
and freedom of conscience. If you really want to lecture some one on the
subject, you should be lecturing those who become the rulers of poor Muslim
countries and then stay in the power with the help of the imperial forces
or get into power with help from the foreign imperialists. The moment a
Muslim country wants to work independently on its development, the evil
empires attack and destroy them or put sanctions to curb their development.
These are the situations that Mr. Joyce had failed to understand and
appreciate.
Regards,
Javed I. Chaudry
