The American imperialism and Pakistan

There are headlines in Pakistani newspapers that read, “A suicide bomber attacked a Shia funeral killing 28 people”.  We have been reading the news like those since 2003, ever since the US invaded Iraq. But this news is not from Iraq, this happened in Islamabad. There is an uncanny resemblance of terrorism in Pakistan to the one that existed in Iraq after the American invasion. The covert forces which have been busy in Iraq, are now moving into Pakistan. The destruction of Iraq is complete. The control of Pakistan is the key to having American control of Afghanistan. Pakistan is their new target now.

The combination of poverty and illiteracy is being fully exploited by the enemies of Pakistan to create chaos and cause ethnic and sectarian riots to lead up to a complete destabilization of the country.

Ever since the Taliban had refused to allow the Americans to run the oil/gas pipeline through Afghanistan, the Americans have been itching to create an excuse to invade and control Afghanistan. The event of 9/11 became the pretext for the invasion. Within days of the 9/11, the Americans announced its war on terror and consequently coerced and blackmailed Pakistan to make the American war on Afghanistan, it’s own. According to a well thought out plan, the Bush administration dictated to General Musharraf to provide facilities in Balochistan to set up a military base with additional provisions such as:

Pakistan was to allow:

  • The US citizens in and out of the country at will without any visa requirements.
  • The US citizens to carry fire arms without getting them registered with Pakistani authorities.
  • The US citizens’ freedom to move with no restrictions or record to be kept by Pakistani authorities.
  • The US contractors to import any material/machinery without paying excise duties or taxes.
  • No checking of the materials being imported or exported by the American contractors
  • The US aircrafts and other vehicles to move and park free of landing fees or parking fees.
  • Pakistan to provide free telecom system.
  • The US officials to walk into any office of any government department where they would expect full cooperation from the government authorities.
  • No Pakistani law would apply to the US citizens.
  • If a Pakistani happens to be killed at the hands of an American citizen, Pakistan cannot demand for compensation.

Gen. Musharraf had to go along with the US demands or be prepared to get bombed back to the stone age.

The Americans will do any thing by hook or by crook to ensure they have access to cheap energy and raw materials of the world so that 6% of the world population will keep consuming 25% of the world resources.

After serving the Americans for several years, as Musharraf started to show more and more reluctance to fight the American war making it Pakistan’s own, it was time for the regime change. The one with any patriotism was removed and as expected, compradors were soon installed and the Americans went back to their imperial big game with new vigor.

The discovery of the fact that the drones were taking off from Balochistan may be a surprise for the Pakistani citizens, but it appears to be an open secret that the authorities were in cahoots with Washington from the begining. They are obviously not going to do any thing against the masters who put them in power. While the Americans have turned Pakistan into a war zone that is taking a heavy toll on its economy, security and stability, we have not heard a word from the government of Pakistan as to what are their plans for the future of Pakistan and its economic recovery.

Obama is sending another 17000 troops to Afghanistan, while the supply route for the American and NATO forces is in shambles. The existing supply route, almost 2000 km from Karachi to Kabul via Khyber is almost non existent now after the resistance groups, dubbed as the Pakistani Taliban, have blown one of the bridges near Khyber pass. With additional troops in Afghanistan, reliable supply routes are essential. The Americans have considered talking to the Russians to use the Northern Afghani routs, but the Russian president Medvedev has declined to offer that help. With their hat in hand, the Americans may have to talk to the Iranians for a supply route, but it is too early to say what will transpire.

In the meanwhile, back to Pakistan, the CIA is extremely busy in creating chaos. Also, it is busy covertly working with many Balochi traitors who would like to separate Balochistan for personal gains and turn Balochistan into an American client state.

In the face of all this mayhem that the so called American war on terror has created in the region, a few natural questions arise: What exactly are the Americans doing there? Would the additional 17000 troops be looking for Bin Laden? Is the Afghani girls’ education the paramount objective that must be met by spending billions of borrowed dollars and killing thousands of people? No, no one is interested in Bin Laden or getting the Afghani girls educated. It was just a ploy that the imperial powers use to start the trouble, then, one thing leads to another and in time every one forgets about the real reason of the issue. Since October 2001, it is now well over 8 years for the American terrorism in Afghanistan. During the last couple of years it has now moved into Pakistan. Most of the American public has already forgotten about Bin Laden, the administration was never interested in him any way. For all intents and purposes, the American terrorism in Afghanistan is now know as the ‘Afghanistan issue’ – as if Afghanistan had an issue and the Americans were only too gracious to go there to sort it out for the good of Afghanis.

The real reason is one and one only – American empire’s ambition to have a full control over the corridor through which they want to run a pipeline into the Central Asia and stay in the backyard of Russia and China. A lot of  4-star generals, the state secretaries, presidents and vice presidents are running around, but did they ever mention the real reason of all this bedlam? No, and they won’t.

Here is what is happening in Pakistan.

Various forces are working mostly out of ‘step’ with each other, which are:

1. The Pakistani Resistors: Also called (by the enemies of Pakistan) the militants, Islmists, terrorists, Pakistani Taliban, insurgents or Jihadis. These are mostly the Pashtoons. Recall, all these people were called the Mujahedeen during the Soviet invasion. The Pashtoons have always been a big part of the Pakistani ethnic landscape, who mostly in NWF province and FATA, but also in Balochistan and Karachi. During 1980s struggle against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, millions of Afghanis came to Pakistan and never returned to Afghanistan. Many of them feel strongly against Pakistan’s (forced) decision to participate in the American war on terror against Afghanistan. These are the people who are thought to be a challenge for the American supply routs from Karachi to Khyber.

2. External Intelligence Agencies: CIA and RAW are covertly busy fighting a proxy war. Unlimited money is available for the takers who can arrange to find and brain wash some idiots to offer themselves for suicidal bombing in the way of God to become a well deserved candidate for 70 huris in the hereafter. These are the forces that look for the religiously inclined but devoid of any worldly intelligence to trigger the ethnic or religious riots. One cannot possibly overlook the resemblance of terrorism that has started in Pakistan during the last couple of years with that which existed in Iraq. We have no idea how many CIA agents are busy conspiring against Pakistan and its existence.

CIA is also knee deep busy with some politicians in NWF province, Balochistan and Karachi just as India was involved with Sheikh Mujeeb in East Pakistan during 1960s conspiring against Pakistan. It should not be a rocket science to understand why Americans want ISI and Pakistan army to become a second fiddle because they want CIA to have free hand to destroy the country to their heart’s content.

3. The Government in the office:  During the first six months after getting into the office, they had only one concern: how to get rid of Musharraf. It is not know if they had acted on any plan for Pakistan’s future, its economy, unemployment, setting up of industry, creation of jobs, education, health or inflation. During the first six months, at least they has an objective to work for. After Musharraf’s resignation, it is not clear if the government has accomplished any thing or has any plans for the future of the country. It is not clear how far they are allowed to go by Washington in connection with serving Pakistan.

What can be done to save Pakistan?

Pakistan must ask the Americans to leave their country. America’s war is not Pakistan’s war and the interests of the two countries do not coincide. The American military bases in Pakistan must be closed; all CIA agents must be thrown out. Any thing short of this would cause existential problems for Pakistan in the near future. The big question here is: would the present government have to nerve to ask the Americans to leave their soil?

Without Pakistan’s help, the American invasion of Afghanistan would come to a screeching halt. Kyrgyzstan has recently told the Americans to close down their air base in that country. Pakistan should learn from Kyrgyzstan. Pakistan needs to think about its survival and its own future without being a client to American imperialism.
