ALL SECULAR PAKISTANIS NEED TO UNITE

Family of the Heart - DIALOGUE & DISCUSSIONS

 FEAR IS THE KEY

In his well reasoned argument about the challenge of fundamentalism and imperialism (and whether secular and liberal Muslims can work together for the common good), Tarek Fatah says, "The Muslim Canadian Congress will work with any secular Muslim and non-Muslim who is willing to commit to the separation of Religion and State, not just here in Canada, but across the Muslim world too."

Given his broad vision, even Fatah is flabbergasted by what is happening around him.

"How any secular Muslim would follow these jihadis is beyond me," he laments.

He and others like him -- Pervez Hoodbhoy, Tariq Ali, the initiator of this dialogue and discussion Dr Khalid Sohail, Dr Taj Hashmi, Peter Joyce, et al -- fail to invoke the magic word (please wait for it) that is responsible for all the chaos we see in the world today.

It is through the magic of this God-given word that we have spawned a myriad fledgeling Muslim brotherhoods like the Jamat-e-Islami and slogans like "Islam is the Answer" and "Quran is our Constitution."

Ditto for Christianity and every other religion.

It's a four-letter word with ramifications that will blow your mind.

The word is fear.

Just think about it.
