Dear Dr. Sohail,
Congratulations on
holding a very successful program the other night. Politics is not my cup
of tea but I still enjoyed listening to all the speakers. Though some of it went above my head, but
overall I gained and learned a lot from the learned speakers. You always
talk eloquently, and in your talk the added humor, as you did yesterday,
makes the subject more palatable.
As you also announced
that the next seminar would be on the topic of "Human Rights", I
wish to read a paper on "Children's Rights" during their early
years, an area often not explored enough in the context of human rights.
Though understanding and standards of care about "the little human
beings” has greatly improved in recent times, yet often that understanding
is not thorough enough, resulting in misrepresentation of children's real
needs. This lack of understanding stems from parents, teachers, and care
givers' insufficient knowledge about child psychology. I have been working
with children most of my working my life; first as an elementary school
teacher at Riyadh and Pakistan, and then as daycare teacher in Canada.
After we moved to Canada
twelve years ago, I obtained diploma in Early Childhood Education from Humber College and since then I have been
passionately working with children, trying to make a difference where ever
I can.
Please let me know if
you could include me among the participants in the forthcoming seminar
about human rights. It will take me two to three weeks to gather material
and write it down.
I look forward to hear
from you.
Regards.
Najma
