Dear Peter...most
friends call me Sohail, some Khalid as both are given names. Like many
people born in Pakistan
I do not have a family name.
Let me ask you some
questions so that I am clear about your position on war.
Do you believe in war?
Do you believe in
spending millions of dollars on making guns and tanks and bombs and nuclear
weapons?
Being a Pakistani I
always criticized Pakistani Government spending most of their budget on the
army rather than on education and health care and providing clean water for
the citizens.
I am amazed that
American Government will spend billions of dollars on war in Iraq and Afghanistan while 40 million
Americans have no health Insurance.
Let us hope Obama
changes that.
I am against cycle of
violence whether it was between
America and USSR
or
America and the Muslim World
the same way I am
against war between
Shiites and Suunis
and
Muslims and Hindus.
War is an expensive
undertaking in which no party is a winner and in my opinion war fought in
the name of a merciful God is the worst.
