Certainly, there are a number of points in
Peter’s arguments that one could accept, but the appropriate response from
Anis Zuberi was the answer that Peter Joyce had
been asking for. His blind and unconditional support of American
Imperialism was becoming unbearable.
On the other hand the “USA bashing” or denouncing “American
Imperialism” will not bring back to Pakistan the secularism or the
democracy which never existed in this country. It is not because of the
“God given” rights that the imperialists impose their imperialism, but it
is the “God given” corrupt leaders (rulers) and then the “God given”
weakness to the people of the country to follow and admire these leaders.
These second type of “God given” qualities open the door to a Wolf waiting
at the entrance of the enclosure.
Also, crying “Wolf” does not make the wolf
run away. The shepherd (government! people!!) should chase him off or the
watch-dogs (army!) of the herd should tear the wolf into pieces.
Unfortunately, these required qualities are lacking in the government, the
people and the army of Pakistan.
