Dear Mr. Jawaid Manzoor,
I appreciate your views and scholarly
aptitude. I want to narrate an
interesting event to you. In, Islamabad ,
Pakistan I used to visit Josh Maliabadi, the
great poet of Urdu Language. In 1980 he had
kindly written the Preface of my Urdu/ Persian
poetry book titled Gosha-e- Qafas (The Corner
of the Cage). He was very intolerant regarding
the pronunciation of the words. Once a young
journalist in my presence pronounced the word
Bars (Year) as Baras (A skin disease). Josh
yelled at him and asked him to leave his
company as he could not tolerate such fools in
his company. On my interference he pardoned
him. I have narrated this story to get
permission from you to correct your spelling
errors while mentioning the great British
poets. In your post you have written Woodworth
for Wordsworth. Brayon for Byron and Shelly
for Shelley. I think these are typing errors
for a man of your caliber can not commit such
glaring errors. Please excuse me for pointing
out the errors. To err is human and we all are
human beings.
Sincerely yours,
Dr.Maqsood Jafri
