Pakistan’s Disorder – Another Fine Mess Created By Uncle Sam

Dear Ahsan Khan Sahib,

I am glad you have managed to sort out about what appeared to be a strange word out of possibly a spelling error, which it was not.

Regarding disagreements that Rafi and Jawaid Virk Sahiban have with me, it does not bother me, in fact, if they stop disagreeing with me, I would think there is a problem. Our friendship has reached at a level where, we have subconsciously, agreed to disagree. On times, when we feel too passionate on any topic, we contact through phone and have it out with each other. In spite of how much we agree or disagree, these two gentlemen are my friends and I respect them.

As I have said it many times before; for the societal as well individual development, it is essental that we encourage different and opposing views. An environment, that does not allow disagreement and dissent cannot stay in step with new challenges of life and will be left behind the rest of the world. In fact, this requirement is an important attribute of democracy. We can never get ahead without disagreements.

The basic reason to engage in discussion on this web site is not to decide who is right or what is wrong, but just to share thoughts as that is a good way of learning about other ideas and views that we may not have entertained due to our own (inherent) myopic or prejudicial thinking.
