The noble work being done by Mr. Greg Mortinson
to spread education in remote areas of Pakistan
which are usually controlled by the extremist
and non educated Mullahs should be highly
appreciated by all Pakistanis and particularly
by our government. And the education department
instead of embezziling money and foreign aid
should assist and help Mr. Greg to spread
education as the first Ayats in Surah Al
Alaq(96) pertains to get educated to learn and
understand the Quran. You may write a letter to
the government to help Mr. Greq and send us our
appreciation to him also. The terrorism and
suicide bombings in our country have spread due
to lack of education and Quranic knowledge
among the tribal areas of NWFP. They are blowing
up girls schools terming them un-Islamic. The
extremist Mullahs who have become the religious
heads or priests/bishops of our uneducated
people exploit the religion to the fullest
extent to indulge in various deviations.
The need of the hour is that since Pakistan is
an Islamic State hence all religious matters
including Masajids, Madressahs, publication of
religious literature etc. should be under
government control through an Ulema Council to
manage these matters in a progressive way. The
Madressahs should be merged into schools in a
phased manner as Islam is Deen and Dunya both
not seperately as in Christianity, Budhism,
Hinduism, Sikhism etc. Quranic translations
should be compulsorily taught and explained in
schools to make our students fully conversant
with the Islamic injunctions instead of
depending on our Mullahs/priests to get
exploited. All religious parties/Tehriks,
groupings should be banned in the best interest
of Islam as in Arab countries to free our
glorious religion of Islam from the clutches of
these exploiters and uneducated Mullahs. Your
organisation shoudl start a campaign and pass a
resolution in a meeting to end religous
exploitation.
