Of monads, gonads, triads and
deceptions of the mind
Dear Family of the Heart,
This is becoming rather interesting.
Dr Khalid Sohail says "when matter changes
its form and shape it also changes its qualities and characteristics so
much that it looks and feels different. . . for example. . . we can see
[water] as solid [ice], as fluid [water], and as gas [vapour]."
He tells us the mystic poet Kabir
remarked that "a wise man can see the ocean in [a] drop of
water."
While one can appreciate Kabir's
metaphor, I wonder if such metaphorical wisdom -- which abounds in all
kinds of scriptures -- has ever added to our scientific knowledge, which
revolves around monads, gonads, triads and deceptions of the mind.
Here's a proposition: Water is rain, yes; water
is also the cloud; and, yes, water is vapour.
But where is water?
If we are aware that we are constantly
breathing air mixed with particles of water, then it follows that we live
in water.
Do we?
Or it is what scientists commonly call Cosmic
Soup?
As for the connection between body, brain, and
mind/personality, what about the myriad deceptions between mind and mind,
mind and body, and between body and mind which baffle scientists who battle
daily with physical ailments and psychosomatic (wish we could agree on
'metaphysical") illnesses at every turn?
Over to you.
