Janab Pervaiz Sahib
A friendly, without negative energy,
constructive discussion is a positive educational exercise which I for sure
enjoy and gain from. I’m sure others do, too.
This discussion does seem to be as
mentioned above. Rashid Mughal Sahib and Hasan
Sahib have certainly enhanced the dynamics. Inclusion of humour does indeed lighten up the mood. As a child when
I used to visit and rest in my dad’s garden, I also used to wonder why the
guava would not fly off in the air instead of hitting the ground. But of
course I preferred that it hit the ground, so that I could eat it. Sadly
though, there were no apples in our garden. We were told that apples do not
grow in our kind of soil.
But friends, please correct me if I’m
missing a point in the discussion. While Ahsan
Sahib’s excellent post #9 goes into details
about definitions of physic, metaphysics etc, it also tends to deviate, at
least my mind, in a direction more technical, defined and established. Post
number 1 from Zia Sahib however, seems more an abstract one even if it has
some material well defined or established. One example I can quickly think
of is of day and night. On this earth, on every second somewhere the sun is
rising [day] and somewhere it is setting [night]. 12 am, 1 am, 2
am…………………………….. 12 am and every second in between always exists
on this earth 24 hours a day. Yet this earth goes though the cycles of day
and night. This happens of course only because one is “stationary” as
compared to the movement of the earth. If one had moved in the appropriate
direction with the speed of the earth, then one would not experience the
shifts [day or night, etc.]
What am I trying to say is that while
scientifically established topics do indeed have a role in the discussion,
we should more vigorously attend to the abstract issues. Perhaps we should
replace the words physics [physical] and metaphysics [metaphysical] with some
other appropriate but similarly meaningful expressions. Zia Sahib has
already talked about tangible/intangible. Perhaps there could be other
expressions, too.
In the meantime, here is another thought;
In the above [Iqbal]
may we address the expressions “Mehv-Nazar” and “Jahane-Iztrab”. How
metaphysical are these? Comments welcome.
