Dear Javed
In all fairness, rather than
address the issue of whether Farzana is a Muslim
or not, one should address the why.
If she has doubts, it is because of some perfectly good reasons she
believes in or some things that do not make sense to her. Maybe these things
did not make sense to you and I, but we reacted
differently. By exploring these, we
can see if what makes sense to her also makes sense to us. The way to do this is in a gentle and
enlightened manner, by asking some probing questions with an objective of
learning. We have the freedom to
discard what does not sound like a good reason, just as Farzana has and
did. The purpose of these questions
should be not to attack (and I am not suggesting you did that), or corner.
In my opinion, Farzana has done quite a good job of explaining what she
believes and why.
Sometimes when we have believed
in things for which we did not find good ground, doubts will creep in. This
is very good because it gives us an opportunity to re-evaluate the
soundness of our beliefs and improve upon them. If one has been brainwashed, one needs to
first be deprogrammed before one can explore the truth.
