Askari,
As I mentioned before, I have far more interest
in tragedies that are happening today. I am just
not qualified to judge, nor the ability to
investigate claims and counter-claims as to what
happened in Karachi & Hyderabad in 1992. All I
am asking is that you not force your views
(however right they may be) on those who are
interested in the present and what they can
influence rather than what happened in the past,
and that also in a country that they have left
behind – since I presume that all people on this
list live outside Pakistan.
I of course disagree that I am confusing the
issue. I am just putting it in perspective, but
if your only interest is on what injustices
happened in Karachi in 1992, then you will see
anything else as a diversion. After all, there
are many people who are still exclusively
focused on the Holocaust that happened more than
60 years ago.
So, no, I am neither qualified nor interested in
reaching firm conclusions about injustices that
happened in Karachi in 1992. You may wish to ask
yourself this question, though: suppose
everything you say is correct, what would you
like to do about it, other than cause
hand-wringing about the past, and in a country
that now has very different problems?
