Book Review

Chasing A Mirage – The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State.

Author: Tarek Fatah
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons, Ltd., Canada
Reviewed By: Javed I. Chaudry
I always find it fascinating when people comment on books without having read it. Obviously Javed Chaudhury read only the parts that he wanted to. I know a 432 page book is not the typical booklet or pamphlets so many Pakistanis are accustomed to reading, but I propose people should learn to read before they comment on a written text.

Here is what I propose:

Have FOTH host an event where Javed Chaudhury critiques the book and Tarek Fatah responds, followed by a Q&A. Will Tarek's opponents have the stomach to face him in this challenge? I doubt it very much.

But if Javed Chaudhury and Akhtar or Ovais chicken out of this face-to-face challenge, then we will all know who has an agenda of vilification or plain old jealousy.

Over to you FOTH
