In post #13, our mutual friend Mutaal
Mooquin notes that Muslims are in a mess because
of their fundamentalism and inherent lack of responsibility for their
own problems. He wonders if "international politics and economic
slavery" have anything to do with the current state of affairs in
Muslim lands.
In answer to his question, "Who funded the madrassas in the first
place?" I can only say this: How come Muslims need
international aid to fund their own madrassas!
Can someone tell me if madrassas
prepare us to become 21st century citizens of the world!
When I say "scientists tell us, that if you and I
can change our mind, we can change anything," he says that
sounds to him like a "religious sermon more than a
scientific truth." When I say that we're "hard-wired," he
wonders "if the ability to change our mind is determined by our
conditioning, then how the change will occur?"
Little does our mutual friend realize that the answer is
to be found within the question he poses.
I must hasten to add that that is why the change that we have
been expecting hasn't taken place during the past fourteen hundred years.
