Dear
Family of the Heart,
An
enormous revolution in the world is created because a
minority in themselves have changed.
It's
called evolution. (For God's sake, let's not bring Darwin into this.)
It is
a fact, scientists tell us, that if you and I can change our mind, we
can change anything.
But
the individual mind is hard-wired and conditioned beyond redemption.
We
just can't seem to come out of the pea-sized think-tanks of our mind.
What's
more, many of us suffer from parochialism, resulting from our
hard-wired motherboard, in this case, Pakistan.
Let
me give you a living example.
Referring
to the news of Obama's
unprecedented walkover to the White House, Dr. Tariq
Bhatti from the Emirates noted, "Sure
it is good for Obama and his family. It is not
going to bring any change in your or my life," meaning that home is
where the hearth is, for he adds: "When Asif
Zardari took oath of President of Pakistan [now
that is what affects] you and me directly or indirectly."
The
point I am making is this: It depends on you, on what you do, as the small
minority at home or away, as someone from a minority.
Just
as Obama has so magnificentlyt
demonstrated.
If
you are concerned with the misery of the world, the poverty of the people
at home in Pakistan, the degradation, the starvation of the masses
everywhere, what we need is not an outward revolution; what we need is an
inward revolution that will automatically bring about a total revolution
(in keeping with the laws of evolution) that will bring about a change, a
truly meaningful change that will mark a watershed in one's personal
evolution.
My
question for all of you is this:
Does
this change take place step by step, or does it happen instantly when you
see the truth of the matter?
As
always,
Rashid Mughal
