Barack ["Mubarak
Hussein"] Obama is not your average American or Canadian immigrant
going around bitching about being victimized at the hands of some invisible
reptilians that control the System.
He is not your average day-dreamer of conspiracy theories either.
Even as a post-ethnic and a thoroughly well-schooled student of history and
prodigy of the "I Have A Dream" Dr Martin Luther King Jr., Obama
did not once use the race card or any of that historical jingoism that is
grist to the propaganda mills of lesser politicians.
Instead, by changing the metaphor and paradigm of American politics, Obama
has inspired a vision of hope not only for America but for all people
around the world.
His message has hit home in every corner of humanity on this planet, and
for good reason.
To Najeeb Kazmi and others of his ilk, I must say this: A nation is nothing
without its people.
Much like Canada, America is
an attitude.
Now, it seems, change has come to America, but no.
America
simply happens to be the most rapidly evolving nation on earth.
If you and I don't like the Closed Shop attitude of Canada
toward its immigrant and ethnic minorities, what are we doing
to change it?
Can we even change our metaphor and paradigm to see things with a fresh
pair of eyes?
But, oh my God, we're weighed down by our own cultural baggage, and, I
daresay, the deadweight of a religion that tells us what we can yet should not do!
