Family of the Heart - DIALOGUE & DISCUSSIONS

 Dear Mooquin Sahib

May be we are all so emotional. Indeed we are.

“Bravo”, I screamed at 23.06 pm Tuesday night when Wolfe Blitzer of CNN announced his projection. Like so many people in the world tears and poem also came out.

Next day I realized that the same Bravo had come out of me when I heard on a radio station in Toronto that Pakistan had elected its first female prime minister, even though I had earlier realized that that family intends to destroy Pakistan. I guess such Bravos and poems reflect our hopes and dreams, not realities. Realities are different.

From experience I have observed that from spellbinding speeches by leaders [Bhutto, Trudeau] world does not change. Only from very dedicated sincere actions of leaders world can change. Like everyone else I hope that Obama’s policies will change the world.

But what IS that change? Better economic environment in the USA? Better health care for the Americans? Realization of American dream? A dream which has its boundaries only within the borders of America, or which jumps from these boundaries and then confines within itself, only just the boundaries of Israel? American prosperity has mostly been at the expense of other nations, which of course must take the entire blame for their misery.

Such change does not mean anything to the millions of people in other countries who started dancing at that 23.06 pm of our Tuesday night.

We could debate forever and ever. But allow me to express my own dream of CHANGE. About this change president Obama has NOT talked about.

This world badly needs a change, of course. It will require developing a model, where peace [no wars] and economics prosperity for all countries is established. How do we develop that model is a discussion for another time. But threatening to bomb other countries, chasing ghosts in other countries will hardly bring about a change. That means, for America, too.

JC
