I wish you all a very Happy New Year. But how we have divided a phenomenon like time which is always going backward, no color, no shape and never stops? In physical terms time is just a distance between two happenings. Time and space constitute the two greatest mysteries of the human mind. It took thousands of years to become conscious of its implications. Apparently the human mind becomes first aware of space and much later of the reality of time. The discovery of space as an element of spiritual importance precedes a similar discovery of time. This can be explained by the fact that space feeling is first and foremost connected with the movement of the body, whereas time feeling is connected with the movement of the mind. We human beings are finite in every aspect. But the time and space around us are infinite to such an extent that our conscious existence will be impossible if we could not make some adjustments in these two phenomenons. Our limited intellect told us to make a fictitious measurements to fit into our limited intellect and therefore we started measuring time as seconds, minutes, hours, days and so on. In the religious Books I did not find much discussion on time and space but only vague references but no explanations. In Koran I found like this in sura 70, ayah ¾

3 from Allah, Lord of the Ascending Stairways
4 (Whereby) the angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years

 In Gita Lord Krishna told Arujn that, there has never been a time when you and I have not existed, nor will there be a time when we will cease to exist. As the same person inhabits the body through childhood, youth, and old age, so too at the time of death he attains another body. The wise are not deluded by these changes.”

These vague references do not really help any scientific explanation but helps us to know that time was a matter of interest for a very long time. The mystery of creation will be unlocked the day we will be able to know the beginning of time. But the universe is still expanding and in 20 billion years it will start contracting and then all will come to a ZERO a period of eternal darkness and then who knows?
