Cutting the
bait:
Of the latest,
it is yet an indication of a sadistic compulsion
to heap scorn on Pakistan knowing full well the
beleaguered country’s troubles. Thank God, it
continues to show its resilience. In any war,
they say, the real heroes are behind the scene.
In Pakistan unfortunately, they are right
behind. Even to speak of Jews, or Hindus, they
have known pain to at least reflect on its
meaning. Yet those, who self servingly jump at
the first opportunity to grab spaces and draw
advantages, yet to slander the very grounds they
have made their gains.
But for these,
religion and politics is safe in Pakistan where
majority has historically spoken for an open
society. Christians, I keep reminding, have
continued to live side by side with Muslims.
I am a loyal
Canadian, all for the record, and to the country
my mother is buried. For anyone, I could never
imagine judging his mother, if to understand and
offer a hand.
I am saddened
by this repulsive attitude, particularly coming
when some hope is on the horizon. Forgive me, I
do not sell snake oil wearing different hats -–
but I am here.
