Dear
Mr. Haider:
Reading between the lines
Judging from your Jan 9 post, I
must say that you have missed the essence of many
posts, in particular the posts from
Mr. Akber Choudhry,
Dr Qazi and
myself. First of
all, let me inform you in simple and clear words, none
of us (named above) are or were at any time the
supporters of Saddam. It is beyond me as to how did
you manage to arrive at that conclusion. In your
excitement, you seem to be ignoring the real message
while eager to read between the lines rather than the
lines themselves. Secondly, our comments and concerns
are about the whole population of Iraq and their
future, that includes every one, irrespective of their
affiliation with any sect or religion. (I may be wrong
but I am not sure the same can be said about your
sentiments, which appear to exhibit strong sectarian
partisan influences).
The real message that you have
missed is that Iraq has now fallen into the hands of
bigger tyrants after eliminating a minor tyrant. The
American influence in terms of 15 year sanctions has
killed over a million Iraqis, The American uniformed
terrorists (20% of them are only in the game to
acquire US citizenship) have killed over 600 000
innocent Iraqis in less than 4 years. Now, as we
speak, your leader, Bush is contemplating to send 20
000 additional uniformed terrorists to rejuvenate the
Iraqi killing fields.
Please don’t tell me that you are
under the impression that the shiploads of the
uniformed terrorists were sent to Iraq to save them
from Saddam. If you believe that, I would recommend
that you cut down on watching Fox News Network.
You have good memory; you
remembered the American intervention in Yugoslavia to
save the Muslims from the Christian mobs, but
conveniently forgot Falujah, where chemical bombs were
used to make them submit to the Imperial rule. Did you
really forget or chose not to include because of
expediency as being a Muslim, you may not have the
rights to express your views in that country where
your are residing?
Just to summarize: no one is
supporting Saddam, but the American presence and
influence as a replacement of Saddam is equally
deplorable, even worst.
Javed I. Chaudry
