Dear Pervaiz Sahib
Thank you for involving everybody in the seminar through e-mails and web-site. I greatly appreciate speakers’ viewpoints; some of them more religious than others but, obviously, all of them presented themselves movingly and provided chance to learn from each other. The topic had a scientific & a philosophical dimension to it. I have respectfully read arguments primarily based on quotes from scriptures from Middle Eastern religions and other attempts where the word “Evolution” has been used in its literal sense. I think the “Theory of Evolution” has been missing from the seminar and its counter religious arguments have been equally missing. Some weeks ago, I had expressed my hope to you wondering if Mr. Akber Chaudhry would write on this topic as I felt that he would be one of few friends who understood ‘Theory of Evolution’. In his absence, I am so glad Aamar Rafi has provided commentary so eloquently. His review on web-site does not leave much room for me to say anything on this subject. I think the way he has put forward “Theory of Evolution” and relative weight of various arguments around this topic is much better than I could ever write. I would not only congratulate him on this review but ask everyone interested this topic to review the content of seminar in the light of Mr. Rafi’s comments. With best regards. Tahir M. Qazi, MD Clinical Neurophysiology Neuromuscular Diseases Physical Medicine & Rehab.
